Jews and Muslims are cousins. The biblical patriarch Abraham had two wives- Sarah and Hagar. Jews are descendants of Sarah and Muslims are from Hagar. They fight eternally over the disputed land in Gaza.
During the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Jews owned up the sin and accepted the aftermath; the nation was disbanded, scattered all over the earth. Only by mid of last millennium, they could settle down in Israel, their promised land of ‘honey and milk’; after buying land from Palestinians. Thus, Israel can boast of being the only country in the world who had to buy land to establish their nation.
Human right organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, alerted the world of a deepening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza territory. Incidentally, that was on the tenth anniversary of Israel’s illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip. The gist of the report is “a systemic collapse of an already battered infrastructure and the economy is impending.”
Palestinians condemn Israel as usual but in vain. Israel is the view which insists that the blockade is a security matter designed to keep off the enemies. But Israel’s Godfather US is supporting Israel, like in the past. BBC report on the blockade suggests, “The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet, but not to make them die of hunger.”
Gaza’s tiny area of 360 square kilometers is home to 1.8 million people. That is the highest density on a world standard. The World Health Organization has said that the worsening electricity outages are “threatening the closure of essential health services which would leave thousands of people without access to life-saving health care.”
